My trip to Australia was unbelievable. I learned tons about the beautiful island continent and I am so excited to share my experience with the world. Australia is the perfect vacation spot for someone who loves the outdoors and adventure. The sun and the bronzed look is a part of the local Australian culture. Australians love everything from swimming, running, surfing, fishing, hiking, and exploring. They spend a lot of their lives outside and enjoying the world around them. A con to this lifestyle is that nearly 2/3 Australians are diagnosed with skin cancer by the age of 70. Personally I am not surprised considering I experienced the extreme sun burns and heat. The amount of money I ended up spending on Aloe Vera and sunscreen was unreal.

Aside from the dangerous level of UV rays, Australia has some of the most incredible and breathtaking wildlife that I have ever encountered. Though out the month that I was there, I cage dove with great whites, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef, spied on koalas sleeping in trees, came within 10 feet of a kangaroo, saw salt water crocodiles, and enjoyed a safari in the jungle. The experiences and animals that I saw is something that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Along with the wildlife, the people and culture are also amazing. Everyone we met was very welcoming and cheery. We met tons of diverse people and learned a lot about the lifestyle through them. They all had a very laid back and calming presence. Everyone was always smiling and out with their friends enjoying life. It made us feel very at home and welcomed. We ate and hung out at several pubs during our stay. They were always packed, especially on game days. The locals of Australia are huge sports fans, it is an important party of their culture. From rugby, to soccer and tennis, they love it all. It was a fun experience to see so many people so crazy about sports games!

Food wise, Australia was awesome! There were tons of variety and options to choose from. There was seaside breakfast, Greek food, Asian food, American food, Italian, and tons of seafood and sushi, etc. There were also thousands of winery’s and brewery’s located everywhere in Australia. We visited a few and had an amazing time trying the wines and exploring the vines/ farms. It was a unique experience and they all tasted fantastic! I can see why Australia is famous for its fine wines.

The price for living and vacationing is on the higher side. There are certain parts that are affordable and more remote but places like Sydney and Byron are very expensive and not very affordable for an average citizen. However, considering the wonderful weather, wildlife, beaches, and adventures I recon it is worth it. Overall, Australia is a remarkable travel location and I recommend it to all!
